Terms of Use

Effective September 3, 2026. Version 2026-09-03.

What changed: first version for MirrorSage, drafted from the same terms that cover our other products: accounts, in-app purchases, the painted portrait, acceptable use, a copyright notice process, arbitration with an opt-out, and how these Terms can change.

MirrorSage (mirrorsage.com and the MirrorSage app for iOS and Android, "MirrorSage", "we", "us") is a companion app. These Terms of Use are a binding agreement between you and MirrorSage. The Privacy Policy is part of these Terms. By browsing the site you accept the parts that apply to visitors. By creating an account, signing in, buying minutes or a portrait, or using the app after the effective date, you accept all of them. If you do not agree, do not use MirrorSage.

1. Who can use MirrorSage

2. Your account

3. What MirrorSage is

MirrorSage lets you talk, by voice or by typing, with a guide: a character made of light, with a voice, who speaks with you, says affirmations and manifestation chants with you, and reads tarot cards with you. The guides are software. Their words are generated by an artificial intelligence language model in response to what you say, and their voices are synthesised. They are not people, they are not conscious, and they do not know anything about you beyond what you tell them in the app.

4. Not advice, and not a substitute for care

MirrorSage is for reflection, encouragement and entertainment. Nothing a guide says is medical, psychological, legal, financial or religious advice, and tarot readings are entertainment, not prediction. A guide can be wrong, can misunderstand you, and can say things that sound more certain than they are. Do not make important decisions based on what a guide says, and do not use MirrorSage instead of a doctor, a therapist, a lawyer, or a financial adviser. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, stop and contact your local emergency number, or in the United States call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

5. Minutes and in-app purchases

6. Your face as light

7. "In your room" mode

In this mode the phone's camera feed is shown behind the portal so the guide appears in your room. The camera feed stays on your device. It is not recorded, stored or sent to us.

8. What you give us when you talk

You keep ownership of what you say and type. You give MirrorSage a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence, which we may sublicence to the service providers who help us run the app, to store, reproduce and process your messages, voice recordings, photos and portrait so the app can work: transcribing your voice, generating replies, synthesising speech, painting the portrait, and remembering past conversations with you. We do not use your conversations to advertise to you and we do not sell them. If you send us feedback about the app, we may use it without owing you anything.

9. Our content

The MirrorSage name, the app, the guides, their designs, voices and personalities, the portal, the site, and everything we made belong to MirrorSage or its licensors. You get a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose, and nothing more. The painted portrait of you may be used by you for personal purposes. Open-source components we use are covered by their own licences.

10. Things you must not do

11. Moderation and enforcement

We have no general obligation to monitor conversations, but we may review them when something is reported, when our systems flag a safety problem, or when the law requires it. We may restrict features or close an account at our discretion, with or without notice. We may preserve and disclose content to comply with the law, enforce these Terms, or protect people, and we cooperate with law enforcement.

12. Copyright (DMCA) and trademark notices

Our Designated Agent for copyright notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act is: MirrorSage, DMCA Agent, [email protected]. A takedown notice must include the elements listed in 17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3): identification of the copyrighted work, identification of the material and its location, your contact details, a statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized, a statement made under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act, and a physical or electronic signature. Someone whose content is removed may send a counter notice under 17 U.S.C. 512(g). We may forward either notice to the other party. Knowingly misrepresenting that content infringes, or that a removal was a mistake, can carry liability under 17 U.S.C. 512(f). Trademark complaints go to the same address.

13. Third-party services

Apple and Google (sign-in and purchases), Anthropic (the language model behind the guides), ElevenLabs (voice transcription and synthesis), Higgsfield (portrait painting), and the other providers named in the Privacy Policy are run by other companies with their own terms. We are not responsible for those services, for what they charge, or for what happens on them.

14. No warranty

MirrorSage is provided as is and as available. We do not promise that the app, a guide's words, a voice, a reading or a portrait is accurate, appropriate, uninterrupted or error-free, or that a painting will resemble you. We disclaim every warranty the law allows us to disclaim, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

15. Limit of our liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, MirrorSage is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or a decision you made because of something a guide said. Our total liability to you for anything connected with MirrorSage is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and one hundred US dollars ($100). This limit does not apply where the law does not allow it, including for our gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Some states do not allow some of these limits; in those states they apply only as far as the law permits.

16. Indemnity

You will defend and hold harmless MirrorSage and its owners, staff and contractors from any claim, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, the photos you submit, your use of the app, or your breach of these Terms.

17. Resolving a dispute

Informal resolution first. Before either of us starts a formal claim, write to [email protected] with your name, your account, and what the claim is about. We will try to resolve it within 60 days.

Arbitration. If that does not resolve it, you and MirrorSage agree to resolve any claim through binding individual arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, and the arbitrator, not a court, decides what claims can be arbitrated. The arbitration is seated in Victoria County, Texas, but hearings can be held by video or phone. AAA fees follow its rules, and we will pay any filing fee above what it would have cost you to file in court. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section.

No class actions. Claims must be brought individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, consolidated, or representative action, and not before a jury. If a court decides this class action waiver cannot be enforced for a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) is decided in court instead of through class arbitration.

Opting out. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing [email protected] within 30 days of the date you first agreed to these Terms, with your name and account. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.

Carve-outs. Either side can bring an individual claim in small claims court instead of arbitration. Either side can seek an injunction in court to stop infringement of intellectual property rights.

Batching. If 25 or more similar arbitration demands against us are filed by the same or coordinated counsel, they will be administered in batches of 25 claims at a time, and the arbitration provider's rules for mass filings apply.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. If you live somewhere with consumer protection rights that this section cannot waive, you keep those rights.

19. Ending things

You can stop using the app at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing [email protected]. We can suspend or end your access at any time for breaking these Terms, for risk to the service or other users, for legal reasons, or if an account has been inactive for more than 24 months. When an account ends, unused minutes are forfeited, the licence you gave us to your content ends, and we may delete your data after 30 days, subject to the retention periods described in the Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive (including sections 8, 9, 12, 15, 16, 17 and 18) do survive.

20. General

21. Changes to these terms

We update these Terms when the app changes. For a material change, we give notice by email or in the app at least 14 days before the new version takes effect, except for a change required by law or for a new feature, which can take effect when posted. The version and date at the top tell you which one you are reading. Accounts are asked to agree to a new version before they keep talking or buy again. Continuing to use the app after a change takes effect means you accept it; if you do not agree, stop using the app and ask us to delete your account.
